Large ships at Marghera and Fusina

About Venice: the cruise terminals (status)

Decree-Law 103/2021 bars ships over 25,000 gross tonnes from St Mark’s Basin, the St Mark’s Canal and the Giudecca Canal, and provided temporary berths at Marghera for larger cruise ships, at the Banchina Liguria and Banchina Lombardia (commissariocrociere.ve.it). Venezia Terminal Passeggeri runs check-in: for ships at Marghera, you check in at the Marittima cruise terminal in Venice and are taken to the ship by dedicated shuttle; for ships at Fusina, Marittima, San Basilio or Chioggia, check-in is on site (vtp.it). Your line names your terminal.

Why it's on our list

  • No ships over 25,000 GT in the Giudecca Canal
  • Marghera: check in at Marittima, shuttle to the ship
  • Fusina, San Basilio, Chioggia: check in on site

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Venice: the cruise terminals (status) before you go.
