About Monaco: Port Hercule and the Digue Rainier III

The Société d’Exploitation des Ports de Monaco, owned by the State, runs the Principality’s ports. Since March 2003 cruise ships have come alongside rather than anchoring off: the semi-floating dyke, 352 metres long and towed to Monaco in 2002, shelters ships of up to 300 metres (ports-monaco.com). From the quay you can walk to the Prince’s Palace on the Rock or up to Place du Casino.

Why it's on our list

  • Alongside since March 2003
  • Semi-floating dyke, 352 m
  • Walk to the Rock or to Monte-Carlo

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Monaco: Port Hercule and the Digue Rainier III before you go.
