Puerto Ayora, on the south coast of Santa Cruz, is where the Galápagos National Park Directorate has its offices on Avenida Charles Darwin, a short walk from the Charles Darwin Research Station. Most cruise itineraries call here for the station and the giant tortoises of the highlands.
